A flat lay from my desk: a vintage camera, a cherry ornament and a lip balm in afternoon sun

About me

Welcome to House of Kandy! I’m Kandy, and this is my little corner of the internet for honest beauty, skincare, bags and the small luxuries that make everyday life feel special.

Who I am

I’m a woman in my twenties, based in Kuala Lumpur, learning to live slowly and mindfully. My skin is combination: oily in the T-zone, drier on the cheeks, so I know exactly how hard it is to find products that survive hot, humid days.

Why I started House of Kandy

I missed the old internet: personal blogs where real people wrote honestly about the things they loved, one thoughtful post at a time. Today it’s easy to buy something just because it went viral, use it twice and forget about it. I’d rather buy less, choose well and actually use what I own.

House of Kandy is a space for anyone who shops intentionally: fewer, better things, honest notes and no rush. And if it inspires a few more people to start a blog of their own, even better.

How I test

  • I use every product myself in real weather, not just on a cool day indoors, and I tell you how long I’ve used it. If it’s only been a few weeks, I’ll say so and update the review later.
  • I tell you where I buy it, so you can find it easily.
  • I tell you the downsides. If something pilled, broke me out or wasn’t worth the price, I’ll say so.
  • Gifted products are always labelled. No brand pays for a positive review here.
  • Wishlist posts are labelled too. If I haven’t bought something yet, I’ll say so clearly.
  • Photos are labelled. Most are my own. When I use a stock photo instead, it says so under the picture.

Some links on this blog are affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what I recommend. You can read the details in my affiliate disclosure.
