Why Blogging Should Make a Comeback

Remember when the internet felt personal? You’d find a blog, read every post, and feel like you knew the person writing it. You trusted their recommendations because they’d actually lived with the things they wrote about.
Somewhere along the way, we swapped that for the endless scroll. I think it’s time to bring blogging back.
The scroll is fast. Blogs are slow (in a good way)
A fifteen-second video can show you a product. It rarely tells you how it felt after a month, whether it was worth the money, or what the creator would buy instead. A blog post has room for all of that. You can read it at your own pace, come back to it later and find it again when you need it.
Buying less, choosing better
So much of what we buy now comes from a viral moment. Something trends, we add to cart, it arrives, and a few weeks later it’s forgotten at the back of a drawer.
I’d rather do the opposite: buy less, choose well and actually use what I own. For me, mindful shopping looks like this:
- Keep a wishlist and wait. If I still want it in a few weeks, it’s probably not an impulse.
- Use things up before restocking. Finishing a product is the only real way to know whether it works.
- Read long, honest reviews from people who’ve used something for weeks, not minutes.
- Spend more on fewer things that I’ll love for years.
For the mindful, chic girlies
This is for anyone who’d rather have five things they love than fifty they don’t. For anyone who likes a slow morning, a good cup of coffee and taking their time over a decision. Being intentional isn’t boring. It’s the most stylish thing you can do.
In an era of doomscrolling ourselves to death, there’s a quiet peace in reading blogs about things you find interesting. It feels a little magical: you get the unhurried perspective of people you’ve never met, and may never meet, and you let them change you in small, quiet ways.
Your own little corner of the internet
A blog is yours. No algorithm decides who sees it, and nothing disappears after 24 hours. It’s a space to think out loud, keep a record of what you love and share it with people who care.
If you’ve been thinking about starting one, this is your sign. Write about what you actually use. Take your time. Be honest about the things that didn’t work. The internet needs more of that.
